Here we show you how easily install mods to your World of Tanks game.

Just follow these steps:

  1. Download the mod you want from: https://modsking.com/world-of-tanks-mods/
  2. Extract it on to your desktop (You can extract it anywhere you want, but I tend to use desktop, because I find it’s easier to work with the mod from there).
  3. Go to the root of your World of Tanks installation (“C:GamesWorld Of Tanks” for example).
  4. You should see “res_mods” folder there. Now the “installing” part depends on how the creator of the mod has packaged his mod.
  5. Jimbos .zip package has 2 folders (“0.8.1” and “arty-mode”) and 1 file inside it. The file is just a readme, you can read it later if you want, but ignore it for now.
  6. Move the “0.8.1” folder to “C:GamesWorld Of Tanksres_mods”. You should see that theres a folder with the same name inside (0.8.1). Windows will ask if you want to merge the folders. Click yes.

Your mod should now be installed successfully. Jimbo has included alternative arty crosshairs in his mod, so the user can choose what kind of arty sight he wants. Usually if the creator of the mod does this, he will include previews and notes about how to install them with the mod. In this case the installation notes for these alternative arty sights is included in the “Readme” file I told you to ignore earlier. Previews of the sights can be found in the forum thread.

Usually all mods are installed this way, unless noted otherwise. Some mods are installed straight into “res” folder (For example compressed textures, some sound mods also also need the script file to be put there).

Premier 808 vst download. Sound mods are also installed the same way, but if you want to hear all the voices ingame, they require a little trick.

So we tell you those tricks 🙂

The guide for sound mods (It’s almost the same as above, just with a few twists)

  1. Download the mod you want from: https://modsking.com/world-of-tanks-mods/sounds/
  2. Extract it on to your desktop (You can extract it anywhere you want, but I tend to use desktop, because I find it’s easier to work with the mod from there)
  3. Go to the root of your World of Tanks installation (“C:GamesWorld Of Tanks” for example).
  4. You should see “res_mods” folder there. Now the “installing” part depends on how the creator of the mod has packaged his mod.
  5. Before you move the Gnomefathers audio files into your “res_mods” folder, go to the following folder: “C:GamesWorld Of Tanksresaudio”
  6. Copy all the files from there and move them into “C:GamesWorld Of Tanksres_modsaudio”
  7. Now if you look inside Gnomefather’s package you’ll see “res” and “res_mods” folders.
  8. Move both of the folders into “C:GamesWorld Of Tanks” (NOTE: You dont move them into “C:GamesWorld Of Tanksres_mods” now, because of the way the creater of the mod packaged his files). You should see that theres two folders with the same names (“res” and “res_mods”). Windows will ask if you want to merge the folders. It will also ask if you want to overwrite some files. Click yes on both.

Everything should be working now, and you have your brand new sounds.

If you would install the sound mod straight away, without moving the original game sound files first to the mods folder, you would only hear the engine sounds. Also make sure that you copy the original game sounds first to “C:GamesWorld Of Tanksres_modsaudio” as I explained in points #5 and #6 and afterwards overwrite them with mod files. If you would do this the otherway around (Moving the mod files first, and afterwards moving the original fiels there), you would just have the original sounds.

If you have a mod conflict (Windows asks you to overwrite files), you have to decide which of the mods you want to use. Some of the mods comes with “Battle.swf” file (Located inside “gui/flash” folder). I have noticed that it’s safe to overwrite, it wont affect the use of your mods or create any conflicts.

Also, sometimes mods come packaged so, that it only has the mod files (No folders). Lets say you downloaded a crosshair mod, and inside the package, there is only some .swf files. In this case, you require some general knowledge, of which goes where. If you cant figure it out, and the mod has no instructions, dont be afraid to post a question here.
